Sarah’s role as the Children’s Ministries Coordinator for the Africa East Field (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, and the Horn of Africa) has blossomed over the years and with her ministry team she travels across East Africa helping church leaders develop effective children’s ministries. Sarah is also serving as a Children’s Sunday School Literature Editor for the Africa Region. Sarah has developed a Children’s Membership Curriculum entitled, My Church!, for the Africa Region. Sarah and Rod have three young adult daughters: Rebecca, Katie and Hannah. Rod and Sarah share their testimony as follows, “God is doing some amazing things in Africa today and we are so blessed to be part of it. We are blessed to work with and teach some of the most wonderful people on this earth. Yet, there are major challenges here that cry out for solutions that only God can provide. We are honored to be given a chance to be part of God’s solution.”

Prayer "Write Your blessed name, O Lord, upon my heart, there to remain so indelibly engraved, that no prosperity, no adversity shall ever move me from Your love. Be to me a strong tower of defense, a comforter in tribulation, a deliverer in distress, a very present help in trouble, and a guide to heaven through the many temptation and dangers of this life. Amen." (Thomas Á Kempis).
"The message of Easter is that God's new world has been unveiled in Jesus Christ and that you're now invited to belong to it." N. T. Wright
What does a moral society look like? What might a moral society look like? In his Letter to the Galatians, the apostle Paul lists the primary components of what he calls “the fruits of the Spirit” and contrasts them with “the works of the flesh.” The list includes love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. “Against such things,” he says—with a sly bit of humor, no doubt—“there is no law” (5:22–23). Such attributes are “legal” directly due to the foundational role each plays in building strong and beneficial relationships that contribute to human well-being in general. Christians make a difference in our world!
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Those who believe in him are not condemned; but those who do not believe are condemned already, because they have not believed in the name of the only Son of God" (John 3:16-18, NRSV).

"God creates out of nothing. Wonderful you say. Yes, to be sure, but he does what is still more wonderful: he makes saints out of sinners." Soren Kierkegaard
"To love means loving the unlovable. To forgive means pardoning the unpardonable. Faith means believing the unbelievable. Hope means hoping when everything seems hopeless." G. K. Chesterton
"The greatest honor we can give Almighty God is to live gladly because of the knowledge of his love." Julian of Norwich
Enjoy the season of Christmas, the twelve Days of Christmas! Luke 2: 8 Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And [c]behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”
